Head of Sustainability

A leading South East housebuilding and development group is seeking a Head of Sustainability to drive the delivery of a net carbon homes strategy and a group-wide ESG programme. This is a strategic leadership role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of the group sustainability and ESG strategy.

• Deliver net carbon homes initiatives and set sustainability targets.

• Advise on social value, ESG, and sustainability matters.

• Support the ESG Committee and embed sustainable practices across all business functions.

• Represent the organisation externally to NGOs, local authorities, and industry stakeholders.

• Create engagement strategies to promote sustainability initiatives internally and externally.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Experience delivering sustainability, ESG, and social value programmes in construction or property development.

• Knowledge of net-zero and ESG frameworks.

• Strong communication and influencing skills with senior leaders.

• Confident as an external spokesperson on sustainability.

• Project management and reporting skills.

• Microsoft Office proficiency.

• Full UK driving licence; CSCS card desirable (or in progress).

Desirable: Degree-qualified; professional qualifications such as MIEMA or CEnv.
