Senior Site Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager (SSM) for a 24-week freelance contract on an industrial warehouse refurbishment, focused primarily on internal works.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Project Manager and take responsibility for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard.

This role would suit an SSM with strong experience in industrial refurbishments and internal fit-out packages within warehouse or logistics environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all internal refurbishment works within an existing warehouse

• Manage subcontractors across fit-out, M&E, partitions, flooring, fire protection and finishes

• Ensure works are delivered in line with programme and specification

• Implement and review RAMS and site documentation

• Maintain strict health & safety compliance at all times

• Coordinate daily site activities and sequencing of trades

• Monitor quality control and carry out regular inspections

• Report progress and site updates to the Project Manager

• Chair subcontractor meetings and manage logistics within a live/operational environment (if applicable)

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on industrial or warehouse refurbishment projects

• Strong background in internal works and fit-out packages

• Experience working under a Project Manager on structured programmes

• SMSTS (essential)

• CSCS Black Card

• First Aid at Work

• Strong H&S knowledge and documentation experience

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable

• Experience in live or partially operational warehouse environments

• Industrial M&E coordination experience

• Background with recognised main contractors
