Freelance Site Manager School Fit-Out Crawley

We are seeking a high-caliber Site Manager for a prestigious, long-term freelance contract in Crawley, West Sussex. This project involves a comprehensive internal fit-out of a local school and requires a leader with a sharp eye for detail and a proven track record in education or high-spec commercial sectors.

The Role

• Project Type: Internal Fit-Out (Education Sector)
• Duration: Long-term freelance
• Start Date: April 2026
• Location: Crawley (West Sussex)
• Rate: 270 - 280 per day (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing the daily operations of a fast-paced school fit-out.
• Managing subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard and on programme.
• Maintaining rigorous Health & Safety standards within a live or sensitive environment.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for the client and school stakeholders.
• Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and quality inspections.

Requirements

• Experience: Significant experience in internal fit-outs (education experience is highly desirable).
• DBS: Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS (or be willing to undergo one immediately).
• Qualifications: SMSTS, First Aid at Work, and a Black CSCS Card.
• Attributes: Strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Note: Due to the nature of the project being within an educational facility, an Enhanced DBS check is a non-negotiable requirement for this position.
