About the role A rare opportunity awaits an ambitious estimator to leverage their industry knowledge in a more dynamic, high-growth tech environment. — join Countfire on its mission to revolutionise the way electrical estimating is carried out and make estimators superhuman!
Through the development of our flagship takeoff software we have grown a fantastic reputation and loyal customer base across the globe. We’re now seeking a Product Specialist to join our team and help deliver exceptional support to these valued customers.
About you
An estimator, or a support person within the electrical or mechanical sector
Already with an interest in software you will enjoy helping others learn how to use technology to their own benefit
You absolutely must be enthusiastic, articulate and confident at speaking to professionals of all levels
Someone with excellent written communication skills, paying high attention to detail when it comes to spelling and grammar
You must take pride in your work and enjoy the challenge of hitting KPIs
As we’re a remote team you must be able to prioritise and execute your workload without needing to be managed
We appreciate that you’ve probably not done a job like this before. Whilst you absolutely will benefit from utilising your previous knowledge and experience as an estimator, the job itself is a totally different ball game. You will be given comprehensive on the job training in a very supportive and collaborative environment.
What will the role involve? A Product Specialist on the support team at Countfire primarily deals with inbound support enquiries. That means you will be on hand to answer any questions users may have about the software, responding in a professional and timely manner. You will also be required to run training sessions with new customers as part of their onboarding process.
We pride ourselves on the knowledge of our Product Specialists so you will be expected to learn the product inside out and ensure that our users understand all of the product features that will benefit them. This is where existing estimating experience is essential as you will be able to use your first hand experience to relate to specific user needs.
The key to your success will be maintaining our low response time (we aim to respond to any support requests within 2 minutes!), accurately following internal processes to respond to different support requests efficiently and being able to talk through technical features in a simple way that people can understand.
Providing quality training and support is essential for the success of Countfire so you will be a crucial part of the team. We will look to you for ways to improve our support processes and you should be comfortable bringing new ideas to the table.
Product Specialist expectations
To act with honesty and integrity at all times
To bring your passion for estimating and technology life and channel that into how you deal with our users
To have a thirst for developing relationships and being able to listen to customer needs and align those needs with our offering
To be able to think on your feet and provide solutions when you meet perceived road blocks with users
An open style of communication with your colleagues in sales, customer success and development - we have a highly collaborative approach to how we run our company
To thrive in a dynamic and fast paced “start-up” environment
About the team Although Countfire is an established product we have the hunger and attitude of a young company - the best of both worlds and perfect if you’re looking for somewhere you can make a real impact. The team comes from a mix of backgrounds. From ex-estimators with a wealth of industry knowledge, to developers and marketers with no estimating experience. But everyone has a lot to offer and are full of ideas and enthusiasm.
We work hard to ‘work smarter’ using new technology tools to increase efficiency across the company, but we appreciate that not everything is in place or is perfect so our team needs to be prepared (and excited!) for change.
Benefits include
Remote working from within the UK with all the equipment you need
25 days holiday, plus your birthday and a month's paid sabbatical every three years
Access to quality health insurance to help you stay healthy and productive
Training and development that will benefit you and the company
Social events (roughly every quarter) to make sure you get to know the team
Location We are fully remote working so welcome applicants from around the UK.

Estimator - Commercial Fit-Out / Construction (SME Environment) Three9s Talent currently supporting an established fit-out contractor looking to appoint an Estimator who is already pricing work independently and is ready to take full ownership of their tenders in a well-run SME environment. Estimator role will suit someone who is trusted to manage their own work day-to-day, with support available when needed, rather than requiring close supervision or step-by-step instruction. It is not a graduate or training position, but it does suit a commercially minded estimator who wants more responsibility, visibility, and influence over how tenders are priced and reviewed. This Estimator Role Will Suit You If: You already have hands-on UK estimating experience and are comfortable pricing work from drawings and specifications You are organised, disciplined, and reliable with documents, data, and deadlines You take pride in producing clear, accurate, well-structured estimates You communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors You are comfortable asking questions early and raising risks, rather than working around gaps You can explain the logic behind your pricing when challenged Key Estimator Responsibilities: Preparing accurate estimates using UK pricing methodologies Reviewing drawings and tender documentation to identify risks, gaps, and ambiguities Requesting, reviewing, and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotes Clearly defining exclusions, provisional sums, and allowances Maintaining well-structured estimating files and Excel-based pricing models Managing multiple tenders simultaneously in a controlled, organised manner Supporting commercial discussions with clear, logical pricing input What Good Work Looks Like Here: Estimates are reviewed and discussed, not ignored or rubber-stamped Clear scope definition, exclusions, and pricing logic are valued over rushed numbers Estimators are listened to during commercial discussions Quality and accuracy matter more than volume-only bidding What Estimator Can Expect: A stable, established SME environment with a consistent workflow Clear expectations and the autonomy to manage your own work Exposure to the full tender lifecycle, from initial review through to delivery alignment Practical, direct feedback focused on improving outcomes - not box-ticking A professional team environment where effort and competence are recognised What Estimator We re Looking For: Proven experience in estimating within UK construction or commercial fit-out Strong attention to detail and logical, methodical thinking Confidence working independently without constant oversight Solid Excel skills and comfort working with detailed spreadsheets A professional attitude - open to feedback, but not reliant on instruction Understanding of construction methods; MEP or joinery exposure is an advantage A professional mindset - open to feedback, but not reliant on instruction Estimator Role Is Not Suitable If: Estimator role will not be suitable for someone who requires close supervision or step-by-step instruction to complete their work. It is also unlikely to suit individuals who rely solely on historic rates without checking current relevance, avoid taking responsibility for pricing decisions, or struggle to manage their workload, documentation, and deadlines across multiple tenders. Candidates who become defensive when estimates are challenged, rather than discussing issues constructively, or who are specifically seeking a junior, trainee, or heavily supported role will find this environment misaligned. This is an opportunity to join a well-run SME environment where estimators are expected to carry responsibility, think logically, and contribute professionally from day one. Apply with your CV for a confidential discussion with Three9s Talent.

Mechanical Estimator City of London 60,000 - 75,000 + package If you are a Mechanical Estimator and one of your stronger areas is thermal insulation, this is the sort of role that gives you more room to use that properly. This position sits within a mechanical building services environment, with a clear requirement for someone who understands the thermal insulation side of the package across office and residential projects in London. You would be pricing mechanical services work with a particular focus on insulation tied to pipework, ductwork, valves, plant and associated systems. It is not a generic estimating role where that experience is just a nice extra. They want somebody who understands that specialist sector and can bring that knowledge into live tenders from the outset. The role would suit someone who is already working as a Mechanical Estimator, but who has picked up solid experience pricing thermal insulation within the wider mechanical scope. You will need to be comfortable reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents, carrying out take-offs, speaking with suppliers and specialist subcontractors, and putting together accurate tender returns that reflect both the technical detail and the commercial reality of the job. What you will be doing Pricing mechanical building services packages with a particular focus on the thermal insulation scope across office and residential projects Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents to understand the full mechanical and insulation package Taking off quantities for pipework, ductwork, plant, valves and associated insulation requirements Sending enquiries to suppliers and specialist insulation subcontractors, analysing returns and levelling quotations Building up labour, material, access and programme allowances to produce accurate and commercially sound tenders Working closely with internal teams to ensure the mechanical package is technically aligned and competitively priced Supporting tender submissions, cost planning and value engineering where needed What they are looking for Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within building services A strong understanding of thermal insulation as part of the wider mechanical package Experience pricing insulation tied to pipework, ductwork, plant and associated mechanical services Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and schedules Commercial awareness around labour build-ups, supplier engagement, subcontract packages and tender strategy Someone who can work with a good level of independence and take ownership of their tenders Why this role is worth looking at This is a good fit for a Mechanical Estimator who has built genuine knowledge in a more specialist area of the market and wants that to be seen as a core strength rather than a side note. The brief is clear, the sector knowledge matters, and the role sits in a part of the business where that experience has real value. If your background covers mechanical estimating with solid exposure to thermal insulation, this is the sort of move that makes sense. For a confidential discussion, get in touch.
