Job Description
Our client, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading commercial role within a well-established main contractor delivering projects across a range of sectors.
The Role The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial responsibility for projects from pre-contract stage through to final account. The role will involve managing project costs, overseeing subcontract procurement, and providing strategic commercial support to ensure successful financial delivery.

The role will involve managing project costs, overseeing subcontract procurement, and providing strategic commercial support to ensure successful financial delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of projects
- Prepare and review cost plans, valuations, and final accounts
- Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and payments
- Monitor budgets, produce forecasts, and report on financial performance
- Administer contracts and manage variations and change control
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
- Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within main contracting
- Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Excellent negotiation, reporting, and commercial management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
