Design Office Manager Location: Derby Salary: Negotiable DOE An excellent opportunity for a Design Manager to join a very large and growing engineering & steelwork group of companies - this position is based at their Derby offices where they are expanding the steelwork fabrication division. Ensure all QA procedures and H&S requirements are maintained and kept up to date within the Design Office. Role / Responsibilities Production of accurate prime cost for the project, Preparation & co-ordination of the full tender process, Identify areas of risk and opportunity, Preparation of detailed quotations and presentation documents, Enhancing and maintaining good business relationship with internal and external parties, Develop knowledge of market place and competitors, Coordination with the different departments towards reaching daily objectives, Reporting to the MD/Commercial Director Liaising with staff and clients at all levels, Skills Required: Have experience of estimating and general manufacturing processes in Structural/Architectural steel, Have a relevant engineering qualification, ability to read technical drawings, Have a good understanding of steelworks and engineering principals, Strong understanding of Client Specifications and Product Standards for General Structural & Architectural Steelwork in Structures Education to degree level or equivalent (or a high level of experience), Being able to construct meaningful and concise proposals, Strong communication skills, Very precise attention to detail MS Office skills, competence in the use of word processing and spreadsheets A level of numeracy commensurate with data analysis, Be able to communicate in a clear and precise manner, Having the drive to succeed at all times, Can do, pro-active attitude essential
