Salary: 72,000 to 85,000 + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join an award winning infrastructure contractor on a 300m project in Peterborough. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in a multi-million pound investment designed to modernize the regional energy network and future-proof the UK's path to Net Zero. This is a career defining project and an opportunity to join a business that is both financially secure and with a multi-billion pound forward order book.

As the commercial lead on the project, you'll have an all encompassing role that covers the full project life cycle including the day to day management of a site based commercial team, working closely with the client and various stakeholders and taking overall responsibility for the sound commercial delivery of the project. Some of your main responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing robust commercial strategies to maximise margin
• Agree terms with subcontracts (NEC4) whilst ensuring risk is apportioned whilst delivering best value to the client
• Challenge cost value reports and forecasts, maintaining a detailed "bottom-up" outlook
• Oversee the change management process
• Providing regular project updates to the commercial leadership team
• Act as a mentor to junior surveyors, offering advice and guidance where required

My client is looking for a commercially astute leader who thrives in complex, high-stakes civil engineering projects. You'll also need:

• Ideally chartered or working towards chartered status
• An in-depth knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts
• The ability to make confident and informed decisions whilst under pressure
• Excellent written communication skills and confident when working as part of a large, diverse project team
