Job Title: Junior Estimator

Location: Nottingham / UK (office + site visits)
Salary: Dependent on experience

Department: Pre-Construction / Commercial



Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Junior Estimator to support our clients estimating and pre-construction team. You'll assist with pricing and tender preparation for fit-out and construction projects of varying size and complexity, helping ensure they deliver accurate, competitive bids and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.

  • Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications and scope documents to identify cost items.

  • Assist in producing quantity take-offs and pricing breakdowns for materials, labour, plant and subcontract packages.

  • Source and evaluate supplier / subcontractor quotes and maintain pricing records.

  • Help prepare Bills of Quantities, cost plans and tender documentation.

  • Assist in identifying risks, exclusions and opportunities in bid packages.

  • Liaise with project teams including design, commercial and operations to ensure estimates align with programme and technical requirements.

  • Support post-tender follow-up and clarifications where required.

  • Maintain and update internal estimating databases and rate libraries.

  • Attend site visits to gather information for pricing and scope clarification when needed.



Skills & Attributes

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Good understanding of basic construction methods, materials and processes.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general estimating software (or willingness to learn).

  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

  • Organised, proactive and keen to develop professionally.
