Job Description

Lead Domestic Gas Engineer

Salary: £56,000 per annum £8,000 on call pay van and fuel card

Swindon (within 45-minute radius)

We are working with a specialist contractor to recruit an experienced Lead Domestic Gas Engineer to cover Oxford and the surrounding areas. There will be occasional travel to head office in Gloucester.

This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary, structured on-call payments, company van and fuel card, and ongoing training and development opportunities.

This role would suit a highly experienced Domestic Gas Engineer with strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills who can lead by example, uphold high health and safety standards, and deliver excellent customer service within occupied domestic properties.

The Role
  • Reactive maintenance and fault-finding

  • Servicing, annual gas safety checks, and breakdown repairs

  • Minor works and component replacements

  • KPI-driven response times

  • Participation in on-call rota (additional £6,000 per annum)

  • Occasional flexibility for high-priority no-heat/no-hot-water calls

  • Monday Friday 08 00 core hours (overtime available)

Requirements (Skills & Qualifications)
  • Full, clean UK driving licence

  • Gas Safe Registered CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1

  • Strong domestic servicing, repair and breakdown experience

  • Experience working in occupied properties

  • High standards of health & safety compliance and understanding of current gas regulations

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to clearly explain faults and remedial works to customers

  • Comfortable using mobile job management systems

  • Able to work independently and support junior engineers where required

Desirable:

  • Unvented Hot Water (G3)

  • LPG and/or Oil qualifications

  • MOD, social housing or local authority experience

  • Ex-Forces background welcomed

A full UK driving licence is essential as you will be travelling to domestic properties across Oxford and surrounding postcodes using a company vehicle.
