The Client
Our client are a privately owned Principal Contractor, adapting Modern Methods of Construction to deliver high specification-built environments and projects within the healthcare sector. They specialise in healthcare and are looking for a Construction Manager to join their team.
The Role of Construction Manager
The construction manager will report to the Senior Construction Manager or Project Lead and liaise closely with the site-based project manager and Site Manager and have overall responsibility for securing and coordinating the construction packages.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assisting the project manager and project team with all aspects of project works, including close liaison with the site-based construction manager.
- Monitoring progress against programme, plans and specifications to keep projects on track and meet deadlines.
- Be able to organise day to day activities independently as well as be able to work as part of a team to get projects over the line.
- Manage resources effectively for best output/results.
- Assessment, negotiation and agreement of sub-contractors (variations, time, cost & quality).
- Attend Progress meetings and communicate with sub-contractors and suppliers on a regular basis,
- Attending site to coordinate subcontractors as needed for the demands of the project, including overnight stays where necessary.
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries.
- Negotiate with Suppliers / Sub-contractors to secure advantageous terms.
- Create and maintain relationships with Suppliers / Sub-contractors
- Adoption, utilisation and promotion of software including 4P, R-Drive, Multivista,
- M-Site and Asta Power Project.
- Regularly review supplier performance and provide feedback to Bidding/Procurement team.
- Check contractors work against specification and quality standards
- Ensure material flow onto site is consistent and matches the demands of the project activities
- Co-ordinate the construction package activities
- Co-ordinate with MEP Manager / packages to facilitate necessary interfaces
- Apply Problem solving to deal with issues on site
- Planning Work sequencing
- Monitoring and controlling works
- Health and safety monitoring
