The role & about the client:
ITS Construction are recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Project Manager to oversee a large MOD housing project based in Ipswich, Suffolk. This is a site-based role requiring full-time presence and offers an excellent opportunity to manage a high-profile, secure-sector project.
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the scheme, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and in line with MOD standards. You will manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee and manage the delivery of a large MOD housing project
  • Take full responsibility for programme, quality, and cost control
  • Manage subcontractors and site teams to ensure efficient and safe delivery
  • Ensure compliance with MOD requirements, health & safety, and regulatory standards
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • Provide regular progress and performance reporting
The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager on large-scale construction or housing projects
  • Gas or mechanical background highly desirable
  • Previous experience within MOD, defence, or similarly regulated environments preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Willing and able to be on site full time
  • Ideally based locally or happy to stay away during the week
