Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £30,000 £35,000 per year

Overview

We are looking for a driven Assistant or Junior Quantity Surveyor to support commercial operations on a retail project for TK Maxx. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their QS career who is looking for hands-on development, mentorship, and exposure to live project environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing budgets, cost plans, and valuations
• Support the procurement of subcontractors and materials
• Help maintain project cost records and financial reports
• Attend site meetings and support contract administration tasks
• Assist in measuring works, processing variations, and updating forecasts
• Work closely with the Senior QS to learn best practices and develop commercial skills
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with project procedures

Skills & Experience

• 0 3 years experience in a QS role (placement year experience also welcomed)
• Good numerical and analytical skills
• Confident with Excel and standard QS software
• Strong willingness to learn with a proactive mindset
• Excellent communication and organisation skills
• Degree or ongoing studies in Quantity Surveying (or similar) preferred
