The Plant Fitter will be based full time in a well-equipped workshop, working as part of an established engineering team. This is a stable Plant Fitter opportunity with consistent workload and clear expectations.

About the Company
A long-established UK plant hire business with a significant, modern fleet. They operate to high standards across maintenance, safety, and compliance, investing heavily in equipment, facilities, and their people. The business is stable, well-run, and focused on long-term service quality rather than short-term volume.

Why Join Them

  • Secure, long-term role within a financially stable business

  • Workshop-based work with planned maintenance rather than constant reactive call-outs

  • Modern fleet with well-maintained machines

  • Proper tooling, facilities, and parts support

  • Clear processes and realistic workloads

  • Team environment with experienced engineers

About the Role
The Plant Fitter will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a varied plant fleet, primarily within the workshop. Work will be carried out in line with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and internal procedures. The role requires a methodical approach, good fault-finding ability, and pride in completing work properly rather than quickly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Servicing and repairing plant equipment in a workshop environment

  • Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults

  • Completing inspections and maintenance records accurately

  • Preparing machines to a high standard before hire

  • Identifying potential issues and carrying out preventative maintenance

  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working area

  • Working collaboratively with the wider engineering and operations team

This role will suit a skilled Plant Fitter who values consistency, quality workmanship, and being part of a professional operation.
