Job Description

Our client, a progressive and innovative residential developer, is seeking an experienced Construction Finishing Manager to oversee a new residential development near New Quay.

This role offers the opportunity to be involved with a project that emphasises quality, community, and attention to detail. The development will feature a range of 2 to 4-bedroom homes, designed to with the local architecture and natural surroundings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the finishing stages of the build, from second fix through to practical completion and handover.

  • Coordinate and manage finishing trades and subcontractors, including carpentry, kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, decorating, and external finishes.

  • Drive quality control across all plots, ensuring finishes meet design specifications, client standards, and NHBC / warranty requirements.

  • Manage and close out snagging and defects, working closely with subcontractors to achieve timely resolution.

  • Carry out regular plot inspections, ensuring consistency and attention to detail across the development.

  • Liaise closely with the Site Manager, Commercial team, and client representatives to ensure programmes are met without compromising quality.

  • Oversee plot completions, including readiness for inspections, CMLs, and customer handovers.

  • Ensure all finishing works are delivered in line with health & safety requirements, maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment.

  • Support the delivery of a smooth handover to sales and aftercare teams, ensuring homes are presented to a high standard.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Finishing Manager on residential construction projects.

  • Valid SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid certifications.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
