Technical Director

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead the technical function of their growing fa ade and glazing business. This is a senior leadership role, ideal for a professional with extensive experience in commercial glazing systems, who can provide technical direction, ensure compliance, and deliver high-quality, buildable solutions.

Role Overview:
The Technical Director will provide strategic and hands-on technical leadership across all fa ade and glazing projects. You will oversee design, engineering, and compliance, ensuring all systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. You will support project teams with technical solutions, manage testing and certifications, and act as the key technical liaison for architects, engineers, suppliers, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of designers within a growing fa ade business.

• Oversee projects valued up to 10m, including unitised and stick curtain wall systems.

• Provide technical leadership on aluminium windows, doors, and curtain walling; cladding experience is a strong advantage.

• Ensure all designs and systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain strong relationships with partners, clients, and supply chain collaborators.

• Offer expert technical support and guidance to project teams, ensuring efficient, buildable solutions.

• Manage testing, certifications, and quality control processes.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Technical Director or senior technical leader in commercial glazing/fa ade projects.

• Strong knowledge of curtain wall systems, aluminium windows and doors, and cladding.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Ability to provide innovative technical solutions while ensuring compliance and high-quality delivery.
