We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing structural steel fabrication company based in the Southwest. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team.
This role will suit an Estimator with a solid background in the construction industry, ideally with exposure to structural steel projects. You'll be involved in a wide range of tenders, from industrial and commercial steelwork through to more complex multi-storey structures, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility over time.

The Role
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for construction and structural steelwork projects
- Review and analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Carry out detailed material take-offs and cost breakdowns for labour, materials, and subcontractors
- Liaise with clients, main contractors, engineers, and suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information
- Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative solutions
- Attend pre- and post-tender meetings as required
- Support handover to the contracts team and assist with procurement planning
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 3 years' previous experience in estimating within the construction industry
- Experience with structural steelwork is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of fabrication, erection processes, and associated costs
- Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Commercially aware with strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
