Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (09:00 - 17:00)
Dress Code: Business Casual
Pay Rates (Hourly)
  • PAYE: £21.13
  • LTD: £26.83

Purpose of the Role
To assist in the provision of a comprehensive human resources service to council directorates, schools, and external bodies as required. The role will support senior leaders and managers by providing high-quality, professional HR advice during a period of organisational change and transformation.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary Human Resources Business Partner to support the Operational HR Team whilst a transformation programme is being delivered. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure effective people management, compliance with employment legislation, and consistent application of HR policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Heads of Service, Head Teachers, and Senior Managers on all aspects of human resource management, including:
    • Absence and capability management
    • Disciplinary and grievance procedures
    • Workforce planning
    • Managing workforce change, including organisational change, redundancy, and redeployment
    • Application of national and local terms and conditions, including job grading
  • Assist in training and mentoring line managers to enable effective and "right first time" employment decisions
  • Provide professional HR advice on recruitment, employment matters, and terms and conditions
  • Undertake research and analysis to support directorate-based HR and organisational development projects
  • Contribute to HR project work and policy development activities as required
  • Promote and implement the organisation's Equality Policy across all areas of work
  • Support the maintenance of a healthy, safe, and secure working environment, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
About You
  • Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or senior HR advisory role
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policy, and best practice
  • Confident advising senior leaders on complex and sensitive HR matters
  • Experience supporting organisational change and transformation
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
  • Local government or public sector experience is highly desirable
