Special Projects Surveyor - Major Works
We are seeking an experienced Special Projects Surveyor to lead on major remedial and latent defect projects, with a strong emphasis on cladding and fire-safety programmes. This is a key role within a specialist property team, delivering high-quality, compliant and customer-focused outcomes across a varied portfolio.
About the Role
In this position, you will take ownership of a range of remediation projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards. Working closely with internal teams, consultants, residents and wider stakeholders, you will act as the technical lead on complex building safety and defect issues.
The role requires occasional evening attendance for resident and stakeholder meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple remedial and latent defect projects from inception to completion
- Provide technical expertise on building safety, cladding, fire compliance and regulatory requirements
- Oversee procurement, contract administration and performance management of contractors and consultants
- Plan, coordinate and monitor project programmes, risks, budgets and quality standards
- Build strong relationships with residents, stakeholders and internal partners, providing updates and addressing concerns
- Ensure health & safety, statutory compliance and robust documentation throughout project delivery
- Prepare reports, contribute to service improvement initiatives and support wider property team objectives
About You
You will bring:
- Strong Building Surveying and Contract Administration experience
- Proven track record managing major remedial, cladding or fire-safety related projects
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on quality, value for money and customer experience
- Good working knowledge of building regulations, compliance standards and health & safety legislation
- Confidence delivering updates to residents and leading meetings, including occasional out-of-hours
