A building control technical director is required to be the person who is the expert in Building Control, with ability to manage complex projects that have a major impact on the business and enhance the companies reputation in the marketplace. Leading on technical aspects including managing the technical performance of surveyors in the team.
Key Deliverables
- Will manage a large-scale technical project that is complex and advise the Client on compliance with the Building Regulations.
- Takes responsibility for contractual liability in the bids submitted
- Negotiates the risk profile within a contract to generate new business opportunities
- Will take the game plan and approach known contacts in the plan and engage them to generate sales and further relationships
- Develops the technical team members, enhancing their technical skills by sharing own experiences and making sure all Surveyors are developing their own expertise levels
Knowledge
- Professional membership/qualifications - Will be a chartered Professional - likely to be MRICS, MCIOB or MCABEAchieve registration with the Building Safety Regulator through an assessment scheme that allows unsupervised work on all building types within the scope.
- Will be an Industry recognised technical expert with sought after skills in a specific skillset.
- External clients - good client understanding of the projects on which they work and the broader Division they work within and have great sales & presentation skills
- Commercial acumen - Capacity to influence strategic decision-making within the business and ability to make commercial decisions within defined parameters (delivers to agreed project scope, time, cost & quality)
