Up Front Recruitment are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to join a long-standing, professional plant hire company based in Birmingham. This full-time, permanent Plant Fitter role is ideal for someone looking for stability, variety, and a long-term career with a modern, well-managed fleet.

As the Plant Fitter, you will service, maintain, and repair a wide range of plant and vehicles, including mini and midi excavators, rollers, telehandlers, and site dumpers. The Plant Fitter will work both in the workshop and on site to keep equipment safe, compliant, and fully operational for hire.

This role suits a practical, reliable Plant Fitter who enjoys problem-solving, hands-on work, and taking pride in maintaining high standards across a diverse fleet. You will work alongside a skilled service team, ensuring minimal downtime and keeping machinery in top condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Service and repair plant and vehicles including vans, dumpers, excavators, rollers, and telehandlers

• Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults efficiently

• Conduct inspections, safety checks, and routine maintenance

• Attend on-site breakdowns when required

• Keep accurate service and repair records

• Work safely following health and safety procedures

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter

• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills

• Experience with plant vehicles and site machinery

• Ability to work independently and in a team

• Full UK driving licence preferred

• Reliable and looking for a long-term role
