A highly regarded and well established housing association is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial function on a major residential project in Merton. The role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full ownership of all commercial activity on the project. You will be the lead QS on site, supported by two Quantity Surveyors who will report directly into you. This is an opportunity to step into a role with genuine responsibility and autonomy, working closely with the project teams to drive best value and successful delivery.
Key responsibilities include
Managing budgets, forecasting and cost control for the full project lifecycle
Leading procurement and managing subcontractor packages
Overseeing valuations, variations and commercial reporting
Ensuring accurate contract administration and financial governance
Mentoring and guiding two QSs to support their professional development
Working collaboratively with technical, delivery and development teams
Presenting commercial updates to senior stakeholders when required

Requirements
Proven experience operating at Senior QS level within housing or residential projects
Confident managing commercial aspects independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to lead, support and develop junior commercial staff
Solid understanding of cost planning, procurement and financial reporting
