Temporary Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing Refurbishment

Merseyside 25- 35 per hour Immediate Start

Your new role

Our client is seeking a Temporary Quantity Surveyor to support ongoing social housing refurbishment projects across occupied properties. You will provide commercial oversight and cost control, ensuring schemes are delivered efficiently, within budget and fully compliant with contractual and regulatory standards.



Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all commercial aspects across refurbishment work programmes

  • Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations and final accounts

  • Monitoring costs, budgets and financial forecasting throughout project lifecycles

  • Assessing subcontractor quotations and negotiating competitive rates

  • Conducting site visits to verify progress, quality and measured works

  • Working collaboratively with contractors, site teams and internal stakeholders

  • Ensuring projects align with schedule of rates (SOR) and contractual obligations

  • Supporting risk management, cost planning and commercial reporting

  • Maintaining accurate project records and audit-ready documentation

  • Promoting best practice in procurement, compliance and health & safety



What you will need to succeed:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within social housing refurbishment

  • Strong commercial awareness and familiarity with SOR frameworks

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams across occupied housing stock

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Confident user of Excel and commercial reporting systems

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously

  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport for site travel
