Van Driver

The role involves delivering building materials to trade and residential customers across the local area, completing multiple drop-offs per day and carrying out regular heavy lifting. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys physical work and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely drive a company van to deliver plumbing and building materials to customers.
• Carry out multiple daily deliveries.
• Load and unload materials, including heavy and bulky items, manually and with equipment where provided.
• Ensure deliveries are completed accurately and on time
• Check orders against delivery notes and obtain customer signatures
• Provide a professional and friendly service to customers at all times
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues
• Ensure the van is kept clean, secure and roadworthy
• Comply with all road traffic laws, health & safety regulations and company procedures

Requirements:

• Full, valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Previous van driving or delivery experience preferred (builders merchant or construction-related experience an advantage)
• Physically fit and capable of regular heavy lifting
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight delivery schedules
• Good knowledge of local road networks
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary: £31,000
Hours: Monday to Friday 7am 5pm and alternative Saturdays 7-12
