This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate cost control, compliance, and value engineering across complex M&E packages within cutting-edge science and technology environments. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the project teams to manage all commercial aspects of M&E works. Prepare detailed cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for laboratory fit-out projects. Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize design and cost efficiency without compromising compliance or quality. Oversee procurement of M&E packages, including negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers. Monitor project budgets, variations, and financial reporting throughout the lifecycle of the project. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and client specifications for laboratory environments (e.g., CL2/CL3 containment, cleanrooms, specialist ventilation and gas systems). Support risk management and provide commercial insight during design development and delivery phases. Skills & Experience Required: Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within construction or fit-out projects, ideally in laboratory or technical environments. Strong understanding of building services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, specialist gases) and associated compliance requirements. Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and negotiate effectively. Familiarity with cost management software and standard forms of contract. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Desirable: Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or research facility projects.
