As a Principal Civil Engineer, you'll play a key role in leading multidisciplinary design teams, providing technical direction, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, buildable, and sustainable civil engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the civil design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Produce and review technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Undertake design calculations and analysis using industry-standard software.
- Coordinate civil design with mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide technical support during construction.
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality assurance across all outputs.
- Support business development activities, including bid preparation and client engagement.
- Maintain compliance with UK design standards, legislation, and best practice guidance.
8 Years' Experience
- BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards professional status (ICE/IStructE/CIWEM).
- Minimum 8 years' experience delivering civil engineering designs in the UK water sector.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
- High-level competence in design tools such as Tekla, TEDDS, STAAD, or AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
