Job Description

Building Surveyor
Location: Darby Close, Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, SN2 2PN
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 6+ months
Working Hours: Mon Fri, 09 00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 39.55 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Work on capital and maintenance projects for Council buildings.

  • Design, plan, and manage construction projects from start to finish.

  • Engage with customers, tenants, and leaseholders.

  • Prepare feasibility studies and detailed project plans.

  • Conduct various building surveys and write reports.

  • Manage project budgets effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Maintain high customer satisfaction.

  • Prepare work programs and ensure timely delivery.

  • Attend meetings and provide advice to stakeholders.

  • Supervise and train new staff.

  • Participate in professional development and promote equality.

  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines at work.

  • Respond to correspondence from stakeholders.

  • Attend public meetings and provide reports.

Person Specifications
Must Have

  • Experience in capital and maintenance projects.

  • Knowledge of construction health and safety regulations.

  • Experience in using AutoCAD for design.

  • Knowledge of building regulations and legislation.

  • Ability to manage budgets and meet deadlines.

  • HNC in Building Studies.

  • Accredited qualification in AutoCAD or similar.

  • Valid driving license.

  • Accredited qualification in Health and Safety.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with E-procurement and competitive bidding.

  • Knowledge of asbestos regulations.

  • Experience in building pathology.

  • Creativity in service improvements.

  • Ability to work flexibly on projects.
