A great opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial lead on high-quality residential projects across South Wales.

The Role Senior Quantity Surveyor

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you ll oversee the commercial aspects of medium to large residential new build projects. You ll manage cost control, procurement, valuations and reporting while working closely with operational teams to ensure strong commercial outcomes.

You ll report into a Managing QS and will be supported by assistant and trainee surveyors, giving you the chance to lead day-to-day commercial activities while contributing to team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial management on residential new build projects
  • Prepare and manage monthly CVRs and financial reporting
  • Oversee procurement and subcontractor packages
  • Agree interim valuations and final accounts
  • Maintain strong cost control and manage variations
  • Ensure subcontractor accounts and documentation are kept accurate and up to date
  • Support project teams with commercial and contractual advice
  • Forecast and report project financial performance accurately

About You

  • Experience with a main contractor or developer is essential
  • Proven background on residential new build projects
  • Ability to deliver commercial outcomes within budget and programme
  • Experience supporting or leading junior surveyors (desirable)
  • Strong commercial and contractual understanding
  • A team-focused mindset and proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to commute to South Wales and local project sites
