Senior Quantity Surveyor

An established and reputable construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their Scottish team, ideally based in their Glasgow office, though Edinburgh will also be considered. This opportunity has come about due to the upcoming retirement of a long-serving team member, making it an ideal time for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to step into a key role.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor

This consultancy delivers a diverse portfolio of work across the public and private sectors, including residential, commercial, and education schemes. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a leading role in the delivery of projects from feasibility through to completion, working closely with clients and supporting junior staff.

This role would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong PQS background and who is either chartered (MRICS) or working towards it. The consultancy prides itself on staff retention, flexibility, and professional development in a close-knit, supportive environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Leading cost management services across various construction projects
• Preparing cost estimates, tender documents and managing procurement processes
• Contract administration, valuations and final accounts
• Attending client and contractor meetings
• Mentoring junior surveyors and assisting with APC support

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Strong consultancy (PQS) background in the UK market
• Chartered MRICS preferred (or working towards)
• Proven ability to manage projects independently
• Strong communication and client management skills
