Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Estimator - Residential projects - Brentwood (London projects) A Mechanical & Electrical Contractor based in Brentwood; Essex are looking for a Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Estimator due to continued growth within the business. They are a privately-owned company which provides building services contracting from design and build to traditional engineering projects and project management for Main Contractors and Developers. They operate across various sectors but predominately residential apartments blocks. These projects range in value up to £10M. As the Junior / Intermediate Mechanical Estimator you will work within an established estimating and contract management assisting in preparing mechanical estimates of values up to £10M but initially be working on smaller projects to develop your estimating skills and knowledge. This will enable you to learn the concepts and procedures of estimating with the scope of progressing your career into an Estimators role. As the Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Estimator will have the following duties and responsibilities: · Assist preparing mechanical tenders to a high standard. · Obtain competitive and accurate quotations from mechanical specialists. · Liaising with other members of the estimating team and Contracts Managers. · Carry out estimates using electronic packages. · Develop working relationships with design consultants, main contractors and clients to establish communication paths. They are looking for the Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer that is either a Junior or Graduate level with an appreciation and working knowledge of what is expected when it comes to detailed design, calculation, sizing and specification of HVAC systems, specifically knowledge of air conditioning, chillers, air handling units and heat recovery would advantageous. The role will be situated within the projects team, so the Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer will also assist with the preparation of technical quotations and site surveys as well as liaising with the client for progress meetings including some project management. Our client is a leading contractor typically within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, research and manufacturing sectors. Role; Due to continued growth they have decided to appoint a Junior / Intermediate Project Engineer, with suitable experience, to work with their existing project team. This will involve working alongside the Mechanical Project Manager to assist with the delivery of the mechanical package. Projects vary in size from £1.5 to £20 million across Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Berkshire. Candidate; You will need to have some mechanical construction knowledge and be subject to security checks and will need to be able to gain SC clearance. You will require a degree in a Mechanical course with CIBSE accreditation and ideally some on-site construction experience would be beneficial. You will be required to attend additional construction training and be willing to learn additional qualifications such as SMSTS. You will need to be proficient at using computers and able to learn to use new programmes such as Bluebeam and Microsoft Project, as well as being able to use other office programmes such as word and excel.
