Job Description

Job Title: Repairs Supervisor (Social Housing)
Salary: 40-45,000 + Company Van + Fuel Card
Location: East - North London
Contract: Permanent, Full-time

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to join our social housing maintenance team. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of responsive repairs and minor works, with a focus on reactive repairs, some disrepair and occasionally some major work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate a team delivering responsive repairs and minor works across a social housing portfolio.

  • Manage a subcontractor-based workforce, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely completion of works.

  • Oversee and manage reactive repairs, disrepair and major work when required.

  • Monitor workloads, allocate jobs, and ensure efficient use of resources.

  • Carry out site inspections and quality checks to ensure works meet required standards.

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, company policies, and client requirements.

  • Provide clear reporting and updates to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Support the administrative team in scheduling, performance monitoring, and handling tenant queries.

  • Act as the point of escalation for repairs issues, resolving problems swiftly and professionally.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within repairs, maintenance, or social housing.

  • Strong knowledge of social hosuing, disrepair and reactive/responsive repairs.

  • Experience managing subcontractors (no direct trades staff).

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, contractors, and clients.

  • Good IT literacy (MS Office, housing/repairs management systems).

  • Full UK driving licence (company van and fuel card provided).
