Job Description

Groundworkers Wanted North West

A leading Civil Engineering, Groundworks, and Specialist Drainage contractor is expanding its team and looking for skilled Groundworkers to support a range of projects across the North West.

The Role:
We are seeking experienced operatives in:

  • Kerbing laying new kerbs, removing/realigning existing kerbs with new back and bedding.

  • Flagging particularly in the Sefton area, lifting and relaying flags to existing levels.

  • Tarmacking (Rake Hand) planing off defective tarmac and reinstating surface courses.

  • General Groundworks across multiple disciplines.

Typical Works Include:

  • Resetting service boxes (BT, Gas, Water)

  • Resetting gully frames and manhole lids

  • Breaking out and reinstating defective kerbing/edging (including PCC installs)

  • Tarmac planing and patching prior to kerbing remedials

  • Plot and main sewer remedials

  • Ducting works (street lighting, signals, illuminated signage)

  • Customer care works (block paving, flagging, tarmacking, manhole works)

  • Use of stihl saws, whacker plates, breakers, and similar tools

What We re Looking For:

  • CPCS/NPORS-compliant machine operatives (excavator, roller, dumper)

  • CSCS card and relevant trade qualifications

  • Experience in manhole remedials to Sewers

  • NRSWA accreditation (for S278 works)

  • Strong general groundworks knowledge

Future Opportunities:
Gangs with proven experience in dig downs on mains sewers and a solid understanding of Roads and Sewers (R&S) will also be required for upcoming projects.
