Our client is looking for an experienced Head of Housing Solutions Housing

i. To ensure the transparent and fair allocation of social housing to meet the needs of the community and in line with the Corporate Plan and Housing Strategy.
ii. To deliver a holistic Housing Solutions service to the local community and to prevent homelessness in all tenure types
iii. To take a holistic approach to the provision of the service and to ensure that Runnymede is recognised as an inspirational and proactive Local Authority.
iv. To ensure that the use of the private rented sector in the prevention and relief of homelessness is prioritised and optimised through new initiatives
v. To develop and manage an in-house lettings organisation to facilitate access to private sector tenancies
vi. To ensure that homeless residents will have greater access to the support that will enable them to sustain their accommodation option(s)
vii. To disseminate a greater understanding of homelessness across organisations in Runnymede
viii. To facilitate a better understanding of the barriers faced by homeless residents, and how to effectively support them in front-line services.
ix. To ensure that the Council is fully compliant with homelessness legislation
x. Development of a robust and proactive Homelessness & Rough Sleeper Strategy for Runnymede
xi. To minimise the use of emergency and temporary accommodation, seeking prevention alternatives for all households.
xii. To identify potential additional income streams to limit the cost of homelessness to the General Fund
xiii. Submit grant applications and where funding is allocated project manage capital or revenue schemes as required to meet the funding requirements.
xiv. Represent Runnymede and where required all Surrey Districts and Boroughs where required at specialist forums including Surrey Strategic Management Board for MAPPA and Surrey Domestic Abuse Executive as required.

Essential Working Experience
Proven successful track record in Homelessness and Housing Advice for a Local Authority
Minimum of 3 years multidisciplinary line management responsibility.
Experience of managing Allocation of Social Housing
A track record of developing & implementing delivering continuous improvement in service delivery, and improved outcomes.
