Site engineer

A leading civil engineering and construction contractor, based in Stockport, is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join its growing team. The company delivers high-quality infrastructure and building projects across the UK, working with both public and private sector clients on a wide range of schemes including highways, utilities, commercial, and industrial developments.

The Role
The Site Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the technical success of construction projects, working closely with project managers, foremen, and subcontractors to uphold the company s high standards of safety, quality, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out, surveying, and supervising works on site
• Managing technical documentation, drawings, and quality records
• Supporting site management with progress reporting and technical problem-solving
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Liaising with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and to specification

Candidate Requirements:
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to project delivery.

Essential:

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and surveying instruments (e.g., GPS, Total Station)
• Strong understanding of construction processes and safety practices
• Willingness to travel to sites across the UK as required
• Full UK driving licence
