Section Engineer / Senior Engineer

Our client, a leading player in the civil engineering sector, is currently searching for a Section Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will initially focus on large infrastructure schemes in East Anglia, specifically road projects in Harwich and Leiston. The primary objective of the role is to advance the construction process and contribute to the successful delivery of these projects.

• Liaise with site management to complete quality take-offs.
• Develop awareness of potential commercial opportunities and issues within the project.
• Complete hazard/risk assessments and method statements, alerting relevant personnel to control measures and work methods.
• Conduct relevant inspections and testing to ensure the conformance of works with the design and specification.
• Train, manage, and mentor Junior Engineers.
• Manage sectional setting-out requirements on site.
• Handle sectional service plans/drawings and issue permits accordingly.
• Assist the QS/Project Manager by providing relevant information for records and claims purposes.
• Manage the as-built requirements of your section and contribute to the completion of the site health and safety file.
• Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and company procedures.

• Extensive setting out experience on infrastructure projects including highways, roads, and earthworks.
• Capability to work with Leica/Geomax equipment and transfer information from AutoCAD to the surveying equipment.
• Strong understanding of ITPs and the quality assurance process.
• Excellent leadership skills and a good grasp of construction practices.
• A full UK driving licence is essential, with a willingness to travel throughout the Eastern region.
• First Aid at Work qualification is desirable.
