Job Description

We re hiring a Senior Environmental Advisor for a UK-based civil engineering and infrastructure contractor to support a portfolio of high-profile projects across the North and Midlands. These include urban realm improvements, transport infrastructure upgrades, and sustainable redevelopment schemes. You ll play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance, driving performance, and embedding sustainability across all stages of project delivery.

This is a great opportunity for someone with solid experience in construction and infrastructure who s ready to take ownership of environmental strategy across multiple sites.

What You ll Be Doing:

  • Shaping Sustainability Take the lead in crafting and evolving Environmental Management Plans that make a real difference on the ground.
  • Solving Real-World Challenges Spot environmental risks early and work with teams to find smart, compliant solutions that keep projects moving.
  • Driving Performance Keep a close eye on key environmental indicators like noise, dust, water, and waste and take action when needed.
  • Inspiring Change Run training sessions, lead awareness campaigns, and build a culture where environmental responsibility is second nature.
  • Engaging Stakeholders Collaborate with clients, regulators, and local communities to support project goals and deliver sustainable, well-rounded outcomes.

Who They re Looking For:

  • Experienced & Ready You ve spent at least 4 years in construction and know how to navigate the fast-paced world of infrastructure.
  • Qualified & Passionate With a degree in Environmental Science (or similar) and practitioner-level membership, you re serious about sustainability.
  • Independent & Driven You re confident working across multiple sites and can manage your own workload without missing a beat.
  • Technically Curious You bring knowledge of carbon management, life cycle assessments, and waste strategies, and you re keen to keep learning.
  • Confident Communicator You re comfortable engaging with regulators and have experience with audits and compliance.
