We are partnered with a successful housebuilder to strengthen their Technical department with an Assistant/Civil Engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career, gaining exposure to large-scale residential developments and learning directly from experienced Senior Engineers.
You will work across a variety of live projects, contributing to the design, coordination, and delivery of infrastructure and civil works that bring communities to life. This is an off-market opportunity we are handling exclusively, ideal for engineers with experience in low-rise traditional build housing from either a developer, consultancy, or main contractor background.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the design and delivery of infrastructure, drainage, highways, and external works for residential developments.
Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Help prepare and coordinate technical submissions to local authorities and statutory bodies (S38, S278, S104, etc.).
Liaise with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to support the delivery of cost-effective and buildable solutions.
Contribute to value engineering reviews to improve efficiency and sustainability.
Provide day-to-day technical support to site teams and help resolve on-site engineering issues.
Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and risks from an engineering perspective.
Support adoption processes for completed infrastructure and liaise with relevant authorities.
Key Skills & Experience:
Experience working within a housebuilding, consultancy, or civil engineering environment.
Understanding of infrastructure design, groundworks, and adoption processes.
Familiarity with relevant design standards, Building Regulations, and planning processes.
Basic knowledge of CAD and engineering design software (e.g., Civil 3D or PDS).
Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a team.
Desire to develop towards Chartered status (MICE) and take on increasing technical responsibility.
