Joinery Estimator
Location: Basildon
Salary: circa 70,000 depending on experience
Company Overview
Our client is a leading commercial fit-out and joinery contractor, delivering exceptional multi-million projects across the commercial sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their Basildon team.
Role Overview
As an Estimator, you'll play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates to help win new contracts. You'll liaise closely with clients, designers, and internal project teams to ensure tenders are commercially viable and achievable.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Attend client meetings and represent the company during bid and post-tender stages.
- Identify labour, materials, and time requirements for each project.
- Maintain and update estimating systems and cost databases.
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve any design or pricing discrepancies.
- Ensure all bids are submitted accurately and on time.
- Support effective project handovers to operational teams.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as an Estimator within joinery, fit-out, or shopfitting is essential.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple estimates.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- Strong numerical and communication skills.
