We're working with a forward-thinking consultancy that's expanding its presence in Cornwall and looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to take a leading role in their Plymouth or Exeter office. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take ownership, build client relationships, and work across a wide variety of sectors including heritage, commercial, residential, and public sector schemes.

This position offers the chance to step into a senior role with autonomy, visibility, and clear progression. You'll be trusted to lead site inspections, produce high-quality reports, and oversee project delivery from initial assessment through to completion. With a strong focus on conservation and complex existing buildings, this is a great fit for someone with an analytical mindset and a client focused approach.

This role would suit an MRICS-qualified Building Surveyor looking to step up or someone already operating at senior level who's ready for more influence and responsibility within a growing regional office.

Responsibilities
  • Lead detailed site inspections and provide clear, expert advice on remedial solutions
  • Prepare and present professional reports with robust recommendations
  • Act as Project Lead on a mix of schemes across sectors including residential, heritage, education, and commercial
  • Manage client relationships, provide regular updates, and maintain high levels of service and communication
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety legislation, and best practice standards
  • Contribute to the development of junior team members and internal knowledge sharing
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and deliver work to a high professional standard
Experience
  • MRICS qualified or working towards chartership with a strong commitment to CPD
  • Broad experience across core building surveying services including design, contract admin, and technical reporting
  • Solid knowledge of building pathology, construction methods, and statutory regulations
  • Right to work in UK
  • Driving License
