A leading fire protection specialist is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-impact projects across critical infrastructure sectors, delivering water-based fire suppression solutions that protect lives and assets.
About the Role
You ll be responsible for:
- Designing water-based fire suppression systems, including sprinkler and high/low pressure mist systems
- Producing technical drawings and calculations using AutoCAD and Revit
- Preparing BIM models and completion documentation (certifications, drawings)
- Providing technical advice to clients and internal teams
- Working with systems such as Sem-Safe, VID Firekill, and conventional sprinklers
What We re Looking For
- Proven experience designing water-based fire protection systems (e.g. sprinkler, mist, hydrant)
- Familiarity with BS EN 12845, BS8489, FM5560, and relevant British/European standards
- Knowledge of LPCB and NFPA codes of practice
- AutoCAD and Revit proficiency
- CSCS/ECS card holder (preferred)
- Solid engineering background with practical understanding of installation methods
- IT competent (Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Positive, proactive communicator with a problem-solving mindset
- Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe when required
- Full clean UK driving licence
