A leading fire protection specialist is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-impact projects across critical infrastructure sectors, delivering water-based fire suppression solutions that protect lives and assets.

About the Role

You ll be responsible for:

• Designing water-based fire suppression systems, including sprinkler and high/low pressure mist systems
• Producing technical drawings and calculations using AutoCAD and Revit
• Preparing BIM models and completion documentation (certifications, drawings)
• Providing technical advice to clients and internal teams
• Working with systems such as Sem-Safe, VID Firekill, and conventional sprinklers

What We re Looking For

• Proven experience designing water-based fire protection systems (e.g. sprinkler, mist, hydrant)
• Familiarity with BS EN 12845, BS8489, FM5560, and relevant British/European standards
• Knowledge of LPCB and NFPA codes of practice
• AutoCAD and Revit proficiency
• CSCS/ECS card holder (preferred)
• Solid engineering background with practical understanding of installation methods
• IT competent (Microsoft Word, Excel)
• Positive, proactive communicator with a problem-solving mindset
• Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe when required
• Full clean UK driving licence
