Our client is an established civil engineering and construction contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex maritime infrastructure projects. They have a strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional excellence. With significant expansion plans, they're investing in a major harbour expansion project in Mallaig and are looking for an experienced Foreman to lead their site operations.

Your new role

We're recruiting an experienced Foreman to manage and supervise all piling and concrete works on the Mallaig harbour expansion project. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll oversee daily operations, manage site teams, and ensure project delivery to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising piling and concrete works, ensuring work meets design specifications and quality requirements
  • Managing and directing the workforce to maintain productivity and standards
  • Coordinating with the Project Manager, site teams, and subcontractors to keep the project on schedule and within budget
  • Implementing and enforcing rigorous health and safety protocols in full compliance with legislation
  • Monitoring equipment, materials, and resources to maintain cost control
  • Conducting daily toolbox talks and site inspections to identify and manage risks
  • Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Maintaining site housekeeping and environmental compliance standards

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven track record as a Foreman or Site Supervisor on civil engineering projects, with experience in piling and concrete works
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and health and safety best practices
  • SSSTS / SMSTS
  • Experience on maritime or harbour projects is highly desirable
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Comfort working in demanding weather and site conditions typical of the Scottish coast
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • CSCS card or equivalent safety qualification
