Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee works on the Cromarty Bridge scheme in Inverness. The role will involve managing daily site operations, coordinating with subcontractors and the client team, and ensuring health, safety, quality, and programme targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations on site, reporting to the Project Manager.
  • Supervise direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and quality.
  • Coordinate temporary works, traffic management, and logistics around the bridge works.
  • Monitor and enforce health & safety regulations, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain site diaries, progress records, and support weekly reporting.
  • Liaise with clients, designers, and local authorities to resolve site issues.
  • Ensure environmental and community considerations are addressed given the sensitive bridge location.
  • Support cost control and procurement of site resources.

Requirements:

  • Proven background as a Site Manager on civil engineering/highways/bridge projects.
  • Strong knowledge of temporary works, traffic management, and bridge construction.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid essential.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work away from home (site-based in Inverness).

Package:

  • Competitive day rate (CIS / Ltd Co or PAYE).
  • Initial contract with potential for extension based on project needs.
