Job Title: Commercial Land Lead

Contract Length: 6 months (Potential for extension or long-term employment)
Location: Mostly Remote (Occasional travel to Warwick, London, and other sites)
Salary: Highly Competitive Umbrella Day Rate or Salary for Suitable Candidates

Our client is seeking a dynamic Commercial Land Lead to spearhead the management and development of a non-operational land portfolio exceeding 225 hectares! This role is perfect for a strategic thinker who thrives on delivering results while collaborating across various teams.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategic Land Management

  • Develop and implement estate strategies to optimise land use across non-operational sites.
  • Lead initiatives to prepare land for sale, development, or strategic use.
  • Identify opportunities for land release in line with business priorities.

Land utilisation & Value Creation

  • Conduct portfolio reviews to analyse surplus land opportunities.
  • Prepare compelling business cases for disposals or developments, including financial modelling.
  • Recommend and execute strategies to maximise value through sale, lease, or joint ventures.

Disposal Process Oversight

  • Manage the end-to-end disposal process, ensuring compliance and best value.
  • Engage with stakeholders, agents, and legal teams to facilitate successful transactions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Align efforts with legal, asset management, planning, and biodiversity teams.
  • Ensure all agreements and licences meet infrastructure and environmental needs.

Supplier & Consultant Management

  • Appoint and manage external consultants to deliver high-quality services.
  • optimise supplier performance within agreed budgets and timelines.

Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Streamline property processes, enhance data quality, and champion innovation.
  • Leverage digital mapping and data analytics for sustainable development.

Compliance & Enablement Planning

  • Maintain compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Skills and Experience

    • Proven background in strategic land management and property development.
    • Strong understanding of land disposal processes and valuation methodologies.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior leaders.
    • Proficiency in GIS, property databases, and Microsoft Office.
    • Experience in infrastructure or regulated sectors is highly desirable.

Qualifications and Requirements

    • Professional Qualification: MRICS or equivalent.
    • Experience in property development, land management, or estate strategy.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse portfolio.
    • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationally.
