Quantity Surveyor (Pre-Construction) Suffolk

Salary: £40,000 £55,000 (DOE)
Location: Suffolk

The Opportunity

A well-established construction contractor in Suffolk is looking to strengthen their Pre-Construction team with the addition of a skilled Quantity Surveyor (PQS level). This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a consultancy or contractor background who is confident working at the pre-construction and feasibility stage of projects.

You will be involved from the very start of schemes, working on a diverse portfolio of projects with a particular focus on office-to-residential conversions and residential developments. This role offers the chance to influence design and cost decisions early in the project lifecycle, making a real impact on project success.

What You ll Be Doing

  • Preparing feasibility studies, cost plans, and detailed estimates.
  • Leading procurement and tendering processes during pre-construction.
  • Advising on value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Supporting the design and project teams with commercial input.
  • Producing accurate budgets and reports for senior management.
  • Ensuring projects are financially viable before moving to site stage.

What We re Looking For

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
  • Experience working as a PQS or in a pre-construction / estimating role.
  • Strong background in residential projects, ideally including office-to-residential conversions.
  • Excellent commercial and analytical skills.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, consultants, and project teams.
  • Ambitious and proactive, with a focus on delivering results.
