Location: Bolton
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: 35-40k + package

The Company

Think Recruitment are partnering with a growing fit out and maintenance contractor with a strong track record of delivering projects across the commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and public sectors. Known for their collaborative approach and high standards, they are expanding their commercial team and now seek a motivated Buyer to join the business.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal role within the business, responsible for ensuring projects are supplied with the right materials, equipment, and services at the best possible value. You'll act as the link between site teams, the commercial function, and the supply chain - helping to keep projects efficient, cost-effective, and on schedule.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the procurement of construction materials, plant, and subcontract services
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery programmes with suppliers
  • Build and nurture long-term supplier and subcontractor relationships
  • Raise purchase orders and ensure records are accurate and compliant
  • Track material usage and coordinate deliveries to meet project deadlines
  • Provide cost information to support tenders and estimates
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues promptly
  • Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a Buyer role, ideally within construction or a related field
  • Confident negotiator with strong communication skills
  • Solid understanding of construction products and supply chains
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • IT literate, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Commercially aware, proactive, and solutions-focused
