Job Description

Our client, an award-winning FM & Construction services provider is seeking a passionate and results-driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Capital Projects Team in Larkhill, Wiltshire. You will be responsible for the commercial delivery of various capital projects across a diverse portfolio of military assets.
  • Lead on the commercial aspects for your projects from pre-construction activities through to the agreement of final accounts and support the team in the maintenance of robust cost and revenue forecast.
  • Visit sites and carry out surveys as necessary to assist the Pre-construction Team in the preparation of pricing schedules, specifications, and scopes of works and to assess the progress of works to validate supply chain invoices and requests for payment.
  • Liaise with the Procurement Team through the tender process and assist in the analysis of tender submissions and preparation of Joint Recommendations.
  • Produce cost plans, estimates and formal client submissions for your projects.
  • Provision of commercial and contractual advice to the Project Team.
  • Review supply chain quotations and variations to ensure value for money.
  • Administration of project instructions and the management of contingency and risk budgets.
  • Ensure projects are commercially managed in full compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the Commercial Team.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying and membership of a relevant professional body, such as the RICS.
  • Extensive experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a Building Contractor, preferably in PFI and/or public sector service FM contracts.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office software and an aptitude to learn to work with other bespoke systems.
  • An organised, detail-oriented individual with commercial awareness and the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Full UK valid driving licence required.
  • Be eligible for obtaining UK government security clearance.
