You'd own the preconstruction function end to end, covering estimating, early design input and bid strategy, and you'd carry the annual turnover and margin targets rather than simply running tenders. What you'd be doing Leading and developing the estimating team, including recruitment, mentoring and performance Owning bid/no bid decisions alongside the Directors, applying commercial judgement and risk analysis Setting the commercial position at adjudication and signing off tender submissions Building and leveraging supply chain relationships to secure competitive rates at tender stage Working closely with the in-house design team to shape tenders early and win on value rather than price alone Leading formal handovers into delivery, with assumptions, risks and commercial strategy clearly communicated Contributing to company strategy as part of the senior leadership team, with a route to board involvement What they're looking for A background in facades, cladding, rainscreen, curtain walling or building envelope is essential Currently operating as a Head of Estimating, Estimating Manager, Preconstruction Manager or Commercial/Preconstruction Director Track record of pricing and winning facade packages at significant value Comfortable leading a team and setting process, not just producing estimates yourself Confident in front of clients at tender stage and able to represent the business at senior level What's on offer 100,000 to 130,000 base depending on experience Car or car allowance, bonus and full benefits package on top Choice of the Essex or central London office A business in growth with clear plans to expand its offering across both glazing and cladding Genuine influence over strategy rather than inheriting someone else's Next step If this is of interest, apply with an up to date CV or get in touch directly for a confidential conversation. Happy to talk it through informally first if you'd rather understand the business before committing to anything.
