This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a construction or electrical background who is looking to develop their career within estimating and commercial project management. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse range of projects, from smaller works valued at approximately 10,000 through to major projects in excess of 10 million. Ivy Resource Group are working with a well-established contractor to recruit an experienced Estimator for a permanent role based in Gloucester. You will be working on a range of education, healthcare, commercial property, residential housing and private clients, with projects ranging from a few hundred pounds to around 25 million. The Role: Review tender documents - study drawings, specifications, schedules and other project information. Measure quantities - calculate the amount of labour, materials and work required for each part of the project. Prepare cost estimates - price materials, labour, plant, subcontractors and other project costs. Obtain subcontractor quotations - contact specialist subcontractors and suppliers and compare their prices. Analyse project risks - identify uncertainties, potential extra costs and commercial risks. Respond to client queries and provide technical support where required. Assist with value engineering and alternative solutions to meet client requirements. What We're Looking For: Previous estimating experience is beneficial but not essential. A positive, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to work. Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities. Confident written and verbal communication skills. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to interpret technical drawings would be advantageous. A willingness to learn and develop within a growing business.
