They are currently looking for a skilled Architectural Technician to bring into the Technical team and contribute to their ongoing success. The Role: As an Architectural Technician, you will be a vital link in the design and construction process, translating architectural concepts into detailed, buildable technical information. You will work closely with the wider Technical, Commercial, Construction, and Sales teams, as well as external consultants, to ensure the successful and timely delivery of housing developments. Proven experience as an Architectural Technician, ideally within the residential or house building sector. High level of proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) is essential; experience with BIM software (e.g., Revit) is highly desirable. In-depth knowledge of UK Building Regulations and NHBC standards would always be preferential. A strong understanding of construction methods and materials used in the house building industry. Established 20 years ago, this award-winning landscape practice has taken on a variety of projects from large scale developments to public realm. The team of 14 are looking for a Revit skilled Technician to champion best practices. This role provides the right candidate with an environment to develop their skills.
Role & Responsibilities
Produce Revit BIM models
Produce 3D Visuals using Vectorworks, Photoshop and other 3D rendering software
Support Senior Designers in realising design concepts
Interpret, import, and coordinate project information, including architectural drawings and specifications
Assist with the production of technical drawings, reports, and specifications
Attend project meetings
Ensure best practice by keeping abreast of design processes, systems, and techniques.Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 6 months experience in production and coordination of Revit BIM models
Excellent Revit skills
Good knowledge of Vectorworks and Sketchup
Minimum 18 months experience in architecture, landscape architecture or garden design
An understanding of the principles of CDM
Excellent English, both written and verbal

We are currently working with a contractor who has active work and is currently hiring a large number of Cable Pullers for an ongoing programme of work presently in West and North West Scotland.
Important:
You will be performing cable pulling, assisting Fibre Technicians and Civils Operatives with varied construction tasks, completing shallow groundwork and digging activities. You will potentially be using a steel saw, for which training will be provided and / or working on the tarmac to cut out and then reinstate this tarmac on the roads and public highways.
As you will be working in the public eye, sometimes in busy town and city centres or local to customer's houses and be wearing our client's branded PPE you will be expected to always behave in a professional manner.
You will be working to industry training standards, for which full training will be provided and this would be an ideal steppingstone for someone who is looking to progress within the telecoms or construction industry and build their skills.
This would also suit someone who has worked out of industry, maybe in warehouses, doing deliveries, labouring or any role in which physical or outdoor working has been normality.
Our client strongly believes in recognising talent and investing their staff. If you prove yourself there are various trade / craft accreditations within telecoms you can progress on to with this experience. We have even had Cable Pullers progress into management roles.
The Job:
You will assist with the fibre cabling underground in the street, to which the end customer's broadband will be connected and this work will take place outside people's houses. This will sometimes be the customers' house frontage and will range from a normal garden to driveway consisting of tarmac, block paving, dirt or concrete.
Laying this cable underground requires digging and cutting through this ground to establish the depth.
You will be provided with all tools and the best quality training necessary to perform the job making sure that you are able to complete this work in the safest manner possible. There will always be worksite supervision there to make sure that you are kept on task and able to perform your duties safety, accurately and effectively.
Requirements for this role:
Previous experience in a similar role will be advantageous but not essential. We have taken people from varied backgrounds such as warehouse work, deliveries, labouring, landscape gardening with limited experience. Our client is just looking for someone who is physically fit and able to cope with strenuous and demanding groundwork activities

Relevant architectural qualification

Preparing CAD plans/drawings for planning applications (Location plans, Site plans, Elevation Plans, Floor plans, Landscape plans, Site section plans, Landscape master plans.
Producing images for planning statements (Site constrains, Site context, CGI's, Development comparisons)
Producing measured surveys for production of existing plans
Drafting design and access statements.
Responsible for updating the website and social media.
Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications.
Monitoring comments on planning submissions, advising the planning consultants when action may be required.
Develop and maintain company knowledge in appeals, LPA decisions, judicial decisions and legislative updates.
Monitoring appeals within the Local Authority Areas.
To act as the main point of contact for liaison with third party consultants (architects, tree consultants, ecologists, etc), planning in visits and ensuring reports are received in a timely manner.

Assisting other members of the Design Department in their day-to-day duties.
Co-ordination with external professional consultants.
Liaison with building control authority, fire authority and other regulatory bodies.
Liaison with local authorities and utility service provider.
Reference and keep up to date with current statutory requirements and liaise with technical manager and other drawing office work colleagues in respect of compliance with statutory requirements or advice on technical detailing.
Liaison with Structural Engineers and other consultants (M and E / Lift / Landscape consultant etc) and coordinate structure and service installations within project design information.
Develop design information to detailed status to included sections / details / schedules for construction and ordering purposes including liaison with buyers
Maintenance of drawing information schedule and timely preparation of design information to issue to other design team members (Quantity surveyor / structural engineer / M and E and other consultants).
Offer coaching and guidance of Trainees within the department
Provision of AutoCAD format drawings to assist in the preparation of brochure information and sales literature
Preparation and maintenance of Legal plans in relation to residential and commercial sales.
Attendance at design coordination meetings and preparation of minutes for the meeting
Attendance at construction / site meetings
Attendance at client meetings from time to time
About you
You will be fully conversant with current Building Regulations, NHBC Standards and be extremely proficient in 2D AutoCAD, Microsoft Office packages and Adobe. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in residential developments in the UK from individual houses to large scale regeneration projects. You will be a strong communicator, with confidence to deal with professional consultants on a daily basis and be self-motivated, and be able to work on your own initiative.

You will possess a relevant architectural qualification, be preferably a member of CIAT or RIBA.
