Job Description
Exciting opportunity to join a leading brand within the Roofing product sector focusing on roof ventilation, pitched roofing materials and other roofing systems aligned for both New Build and Refurbishment projects. The Role
The role is to be the main point of contact for existing and new customers. A leading Mining Operator is recruiting for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for Procurement Services to be based in Canada. The ideal candidate would be a French speaking Procurement professional from the Mining industry who has a background in Engineering and Maintenance.
As Strategic Sourcing Specialist your role will be to support in the development and implementation of short/medium term strategies for the Services spend category. Supporting the operations in delivering commercial solutions for requirements on-site taking into account the overall Supply Chain Strategy using the basic principles of Total Cost of Ownership.
Your duties and responsibilities as Strategic Sourcing Specialist will include:
* Propose and justify commercial benefit initiatives in new capital, sustaining capital, maintenance programs, and operational spend, by providing detailed and compelling business cases and assisting the Customer Group to compile and execute these business cases.
* Deliver benefits by leveraging Contract opportunities and supplier capabilities.
* Proactively implement strategic initiatives to better service the Customer Groups, to enhance profitability, reliability and their customer service.
* Responsible for the development, communication and contribution to Procurement Group initiatives with the Customer Groups, by achieving or exceeding targets which directly correlate to profit enhancing outcomes.
* Develop, contribute and implement short/medium term plans and targets in conjunction with those of the Procurement Group and the Customer Groups.
* Ensure adequate Contract Coverage thus mitigating supply risk whilst continually delivering input cost reductions, a thorough understanding of the dynamic supply market metrics
The successful candidate will be a Procurement/Sourcing Specialist with a degree in Engineering or Maintenance. A Services contracting or Services Estimating history would be ideal. You should have experience of managing services procurement with knowledge of manufacturing process, applicable process plan capacities, cost factors & logistics models. Mining experience is prefeered but candidates from other heavy industry sectors such as Oil&Gas or Rail/Infrastructure will be considered. This role requires a French Speaker.
