The Role As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management and delivery of a hotel refurbishment project. You will oversee all on-site activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day site operations, managing and coordinating internal fit-out works, including drylining, joinery, and M&E systems. Supervise and coordinate all subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards. Drive the finishing phase to deliver a premium product aligned with the client's expectations. Ensure the highest level of Health & Safety is maintained on site, conducting regular safety inspections and checks. Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and health & safety documentation. Proactively identify and resolve any on-site issues or delays, collaborating with the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain momentum. Candidate Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager on hotel, residential, or commercial fit-out projects is essential. Strong understanding of M&E systems and commissioning processes. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple trades effectively. A proactive, hands-on, and problem-solving approach to site management. Must hold a valid SMSTS certificate , CSCS card (Black or Gold), and a First Aid certificate . A salary for this type of role in London can range from 55,000 to 70,000 for permanent positions, with day rates of around 300- 350 for freelance roles. They are both engaged as principal contractors on commercial projects, in particular, banks financial institutions as a sub-contractor for well-established main contractors. The value of each project is typically around £2m-£6m, located primarily in London, and the south & south east of the UK, and as principal contractors, their works include the complete suite of construction activities from demolition & piling to fit-outs; MEP works; joinery; drylining & finishing trades. The other side of the business are engaged as dry-lining & suspended ceiling fit-out contractors on commercial projects including,commercial offices; Government buildings; entertainment; high end residential; and retail. The value of their projects are between £1m-£10m, My client has a healthy order book of ongoing upcoming projects which are secured in London and the home counties. They are looking for a Commercial Manager from a principal contractor and fit out contractors side with experience of minimum 5 years, stability within your working career and degree qualified.
